Ferns

There is something special about ferns. They grow where light filters through the trees, close to the moss and the damp forest floor, and their soft green fronds give the forest a unique atmosphere.

Of Sweden's approximately 40 species of ferns, the lady fern is one of the more common ones. The two that have been featured in these earrings were picked in the forests of Umeå, where they were then carefully dried to be preserved in crystal-clear resin.

The thin leaves, the green color, and the natural shape remain just as they looked when they were growing in the forest. The resin protects the ferns and makes them durable and water-resistant, while the plant itself remains the focal point.
